DAVID ELLIS ACADEMY (EAST & WEST)

Winner of the Governor's 2002 "Golden Apple Award," the David Ellis Academy endeavors to provide an innovative learning environment that meets the educational, social, emotional, physical, psychological, and individual needs of each student in order to maximize academic achievement and reduce the risk for dropping out.

Our unique program is designed to engage students by providing them opportunities to develop and practice entrepreneurial skills in a safe, structured and "real-life-simulated" learning environment. David Ellis Academy provides technology-based education whereby all students can develop the academic and technical skills necessary for successful integration in the high-tech and global marketplace.

We look to instill in each student a respect for self and others, the ability to make sound, healthy, and appropriate decisions, to interact positively with others, to utilize problem-solving skills and to become aware and responsible for their own learning as well as their potential contributions to school, family, the community,
and the society at-large.
