Who We Are

What We Believe

Our chief aim is to glorify our Savior, even Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us that:

  • He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works
  • We should show forth the praises of Him who hath called us out of darkness into His marvelous light
  • We may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke

In the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom we shine as lights in the world. Holding forth the Word of Life, to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death; to guide their feet into the way of peace. (See Acts2:38, Titus 2:13, 14; I Peter 2:9; Philippians 2:15, 16; Luke 1:79).

The Authority and Power of the Bible

We affirm the divine inspiration, truthfulness, and authority of both Old and New Testament Scriptures in their entirety as the only written word of God, without error in all that it affirms, and the only infallible rule of faith and practice. We also affirm the power of God's word to accomplish his purpose of salvation. The message of the Bible is addressed to all men and women. For God's revelation in Christ and in Scripture is unchangeable. Through it, the Holy Spirit still speaks today. He illuminates the minds of God's people in every culture to perceive its truth freshly through their own eyes and thus discloses to the whole Church ever more of the many-colored wisdom of God.

(II Tim. 3:16; II Pet. 1:21; John 10:35; Isa. 55:11; 1 Cor. 1:21; Rom. 1:16, Matt. 5:17,18; Jude 3; Eph. 1:17,18; 3:10,18)

Without question, we're a big church with a family atmosphere.  Those who visit us often tell us of feeling loved and at home whenever they come to our services.  We do our best to let everyone know that they are truly special to God and special to us.   We invite you to experience Greater Grace Temple and allow the love of God to touch your life.  Indeed, you're always welcome here!

At Greater Grace Temple, we are out to reach lives for the Kingdom of God, promoting a positive Gospel of life and salvation in Jesus Christ. We want to touch broken, hurting, and desperate lives with the love of God and the understanding that Christ came to give them life and that more abundantly.

GGT is a 6,000 member church located in Northwest Detroit in the complex known as The City of David. Founded in 1927, Greater Grace Temple has long been a spiritual pillar of the Motor City. We are a friendly, family-oriented congregation that looks to make a difference in our community with the power of the Gospel.

Our services are on Sundays at 7:30am and 11:00am with a mid-week Bible Class on Wednesdays at 12 noon and Family Matters Small Groups on Wednesdays from 7:00 - 8:30pm.

We invite you to come as you are. Many people dress up for service, others wear business casual which seems to be most popular. The bottom line is that dress isn't the issue. Instead get ready to experience a truly warm and welcoming atmosphere with open arms of God's love.

We have a wealth of parking space on site and in our outlying lots. Shuttle service is provided on Sundays and at special events from the outer lots to and from the church. All of our lots are monitored daily by our friendly uniformed church security personnel, who are happy to assist you with parking.

Creative is the best way to describe this ministry. Our outreaches run the gamut from Boxes of Abundance Christmas Gifts for families to illustrated sermons that have become Motor City traditions. Our Back To School festival, Block Party, Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway and Christmas Bicycle Giveaway are well known in the community.

Our superb Children’s Ministry is known for its creativity in stirring your child’s interest knowing God and learning about His ways. A dynamic puppet ministry, interactive illustrated sermons, and field trips are just a few of the exciting offerings of this ministry.

MIA Teens and MIA Young Adults MINISTRY
